It won’t be long now until I’ll be able to test other versions of the software that I’ve reviewed in my past couple of posts. Then I’ll have some new material to keep me busy on this blog everyday
But until that happens, I really don’t want to neglect it… so today I’m planning a review of the small competition that ended last Friday. In the next couple of days I’ll do my best to keep you entertained with some cool and fresh news from the GPS and navigation industry.
…. this being said, in the past couple of week I began reviewing 7 of the best, biggest and most known GPS software on the market…
My first 3 reviews were:
- TomTom vs Garmin
- Copilot vs NavNGo
- NDrive vs Route66
- Sygic was going through to the semifinal, in lack of an opponent
In the semifinals, the winners of those 3 reviews met Sygic and battled it out to get into the final:
Finally, only 2, the best of the best, could reach the highest point of the competition and hope to win the big prize: the title of “GPSreviewer best GPS software”. And those 2 were:
And the winner and official holder and defender of the GPSreviewer title:
Stay tuned and stay safe!

Some very interesting points raised here, which has got me thinking!
Thinking is always good
Seems like a good choice! What I´m after is the possibility to have multiple destinations, one after the other. Perfect for mapping a bicykle trip in th ecountryside. Does NDrive come with that option? (couldn´t find on their homepage).
@stefan: actually, the new V9 version of the software (that is now used by all NDrive products) has that option. It is called “itinerary” and you can choose multiple destinations, in the order you want, and then navigate according to that order. For your bicycle trip, you will have to use the “adventure mode” – as a routing option (that’s new also).
This was a really great read, I am very glad I came across your site.
Good comparison!
However, there are 3 things that are negative in nDrive:
1) No Info lane support. That is so much comfortable and helpful (see TomTom or Sygic).
2) No Signpost support. This helps simply to follow the road signs (see Sygic).
3) There is no multiple icon support for imported POIs (e.g. speedcams), and the voice warning drives me crazy: “Attention, you are approaching traffic radar. Reduce your speed to less than 30km per hour?!”. A simple “ding-dong” is enough!
Great site, I now have you bookmarked to come back again.
Thanks guys!
@SS: from the 3, I think that lane support should definitely be there in the future. signpost sounds nice but it’s not a must. and the last one is more of a personal decision

To be honest we don’t have much of choice in Poland. Thanks a lot for TomTom vrs Garmin benchmark. If I find Ndrive in the shop I will try to check it out. Maybe I will make similar benchmark with Automapa – the polish one. Thanks for an inspiration
Your reviews are great5, well-written, just keep up the good work. We’re learning a lot
I’m glad you appreciate!
Sorry for the long break, I’ve been quite busy but, like the Terminator, “I’ll be back!”
Thanxs for the review… very usefull.
What about GPS for iPhone versions? Does it have the same functionality?
Does nDrive is still the winner?
not all the “players” have software for iPhone yet. For sure I know that NDrive, TomTom, Sygic, iGo, CoPilot and Navigon(!) do! Route66 and Garmin don’t.
I don’t know who is the winner for iPhone but I will make some reviews soon and I’ll post them.
Thanx for watching!
